Madhuri enters Guinness book:

Madhuri Dixit has received a tremendous shot in the arm when she become the first Indian actress to enter the Guinness Book of Records. The millenium edition of the Guinness book devotes two pages to Bollywood for its status as the largest producer of movies in the world. And Ms Dixit finds a place as "the highest earning female star of the industry, with an asking price of Rs 2.6 crores ($7 million)". Way to go, Mads!  She is the highest paid Indian film actress of the era.

The 'dhak-dhak' girl's asking price is reportedly $ 599,460 per film. Undisputedly still reigning as actress number one, Madhuri is taking it a little slow these days as far as her professional life goes. After all, she needs to establish herself as Mrs Nene now.

That does not mean a long breather is in the wings. Though her last film Pukaar did not create much flutter, Madhuri's performance left a mark. Now, Mrs Nene is quite excited about Sanjay Bhansali's modern-day rendition of Devdas. She would be doing the covetous role of 'Chandramukhi' in the film.

Madhuri also recently won the Female Mega Star of the Millenium on 12/12/1999 in the contest conducted by Kinetic Mega Show on Star TV, the Asian cable channel.
