History

Ashok Nagar was christened in 1964 after the great Mauryan Emperor Ashoka who ruled the most of the Indian Subcontinent in the year 260 BC. The Pillar in the heart of Ashok Nagar is a replica of the ones Ashoka built in Sanchi.

Location

Ashok Nagar is located east of KK Nagar and west of West Mambalam in Madras aka Chennai. Ashok Nagar has the best the city has to offer, be it the Theaters for the cinema crazy 'Madrasis' pardon the pun, or the great places for dining or worship or education.
